Big Spot Scam? Free Online Paid Surveys?
You have probably seen their TV ads at one time or another, but you might want to think twice before joining. Many people want to know if a Big Spot scam is real or not. First of all, Big Spot is not even a survey site. They don’t provide their own paid online surveys that you can fill out on their site. After you sign up, you will have to sign up separately for each of the survey companies they provide. Big Spot is a free directory that profits from referral fees when you sign up and use the sites it recommends.
The problem with third party directories like Big Spot and the companies it advertises, is that they collect your personal information when you sign up, which opens the door to all sorts of potential problems, including junk mail and spam in your email inbox. In today’s world of identity theft and Internet scams, signing up for unknown survey sites in this manner is probably not a good idea, not to mention having to sign up with multiple sites is an inconvenience for the survey taker.
One of the survey companies inside BigSpot.com is Global Test Market. Some people like Global Test Market, but they’re another site that gets a lot of bad reviews online. I wouldn’t feel comfortable taking their surveys for money.
The collection of personal information is probably the biggest complaint and understandable concern about Big Spot, but another complaint is that many people seem to receive the same paid online surveys, regardless of the demographic information entered upfront upon signup. It seems as though Big Spot is only interested in collecting your personal information when you sign up so they can sell it to other people. Many people who have signed up for surveys through this site were prompted to sign up for product trial offers and received email spam shortly after.
The only thing that separates Big Spot from similar third party survey directories is the fact that they don’t charge any fees. Still, I don’t recommend this site. If you look them up, there are all sorts of Big Spot scam complaints. Whether Big Spot is really a scam or not is uncertain. It could be considered a scam for different reasons. The bottom line though is there are better places to make money from paid online surveys without having to worry or take unwanted risks.
