Break Studios: A Demand Media Studios Alternative

In my opinion, Demand Media Studios is probably one of the best get paid to write sites for beginner freelance writers, or experienced writers. I have searched the Internet for comparable sites that pay $15 up front per article, but I can’t find one. Although my experience with Demand Studios has been pretty good, there are many freelancers who wish to find another place to write articles and make money online. If you are looking for another site for freelance writers, Break Studios is a pretty good site overall. This might be one of the best Demand Studios alternatives.

Break Studios now pays twice a month, instead of having to wait for one monthly payment. Who knows, eventually the site may even pay twice per week like Demand Studios does. The twice per week payments are a nice advantage. Break Studios will pay you $8 for a well written article.

Titles are selected from their article pool and articles go through an editor before you get paid. Some of the Break Studios titles are really weird and off-the-wall. There are quite a few titles I would never consider writing. Writing for Break Studios is more laid back than Demand Studios, but there’s also way less titles available, which means you have to grab new titles quickly before they’re gone.

Snipsly: Write Articles and Earn 80% Google Adsense Revenue

Snipsly is a cool site where you can write unique articles online and earn 80% Google Adsense revenue sharing in return for posting articles through the site. Snipsly will add a little extra money every month to your Adsense income, if you write SEO articles frequently, but don’t expect to rake in heaps of money from the site.

According to the site, it’s alright to submit articles consisting of only three sentences, but to ensure your articles will perform their best in the search engines, it would be best to write at least 400 word articles.

The site uses a WordPress interface for writing and posting articles,  which I like. If you are already familiar with using WordPress then it will be incredibly fast to write an article and publish it. Even if you’re not a WordPress user, it’s extremely easy to use and there’s no approval waiting period like with most article directories.

Demand Media Studios Dumps WCA Revenue Share

The original ehow WCP program for freelance writers has ended officially, as well as the newer Demand Media Studios WCA version of the old program. It was bad enough to terminate the WCP program, but now the demise of the WCA rev share option eliminates all new passive income opportunities with Demand Media.

I was never very impressed with the WCA (Writer Created Assignment) option, but I had started to contribute more passive income articles under that feature shortly before they canned it.

The upside is that Demand Media Studios is allowing freelance writers to continue earning passive income online from existing articles already published under the WCA feature. Judging by what has already happened to the WCP, I doubt the WCA earnings will continue for too long, but I only had 8 articles published under the Demand Studios program so it’s not a big loss for me.

Make Money Freelance Writing for Triond

Now that the revenue sharing program at eHow is toast, what’s the alternative? Personally, I think that starting your own blog is the better option all together, but that isn’t something that everyone wants to do. If you’re searching for another revenue-sharing site, you’ve probably stumbled upon Triond at one time or another.

I experimented with Triond for a short while and found the earnings to be kind of crappy, especially when comparing it to the old eHow program. On Triond, you make money from Adsense and page views, or impressions.

Demand Media Studios Freelance Writing

If you are new to freelance writing, you might consider Demand Media Studios as a starting point. I started freelance writing for Demand Studios last year and my experience has been pretty good. One advantage of Demand Studios is the ability to write whenever you want without a deadline, until you claim a title from their article pool.

If you need to earn money online in between writing jobs, or extra money, DS is not a bad route. Demand Studios pays most new freelance writers $15 up front payments to write short “how to” articles. I only have access to the $15 articles. Qualified writers may earn $20 - $30 to write articles related to health and medicine.

I was able to make $360 my first week freelance writing for Demand Studios. Since then I have made around $500 in a week and I’ve earned over $1,500 writing for Demand Studios. I’m confident I could make $500 – $800 per week if I wrote articles seven days a week. If you write outside of your niche and expertise it becomes more difficult to reach your daily article goal, because you wind up doing a lot of annoying research and you must cite qualified sources.
