Real Writing Jobs: Legit Writing Jobs Online or Scam?

Technically, Real Writing Jobs is not a scam, but all signs point towards a time and money waster. Don’t get suckered into the reviews out there concerning this site, because most reviews are coming from affiliates looking to earn a commission promoting it through Click Bank. Read this review to find out what the deal is with Real Writing Jobs.

Realwritingjobs.com is a paid site, based out of India, advertising full time and part time writing jobs online. The site is basically a database that houses leads for freelance writing jobs online and members must sign up and pay fees to access the job leads. So Real Writing Jobs is basically the middle man between the eager freelance writer and the outsourcing employer. Their leads for writing jobs online may include paid blog posts and paid article writing.

Real Writing Jobs charges a $4.95 trial fee, which is good for 7 days, but upon expiration of the 7 day trial, the member is charged a one time fee of $77 for a lifetime membership, but they also have a discount available which reduces this fee to $47.

If you are looking for online writing jobs, why pay? There are plenty of places on the Web where you can access free job leads for writers. Beginner freelance writers aren’t making much money yet, so paying expensive fees is a bad idea. My other concern is the quality of the employers behind the job offerings. Does Real Writing Jobs allow anyone to sign up and post openings for writer jobs? If so, this increases the potential for a work from home scam.

Upon further inspection, there are numerous complaints from former members of the site. Complaints range from non-responsive customer service, missing refunds, illegitimate credit card charges, bogus job leads, inflated income advertisement ($100 – $125 per article) and Twitter spam. I think at this point you can decide whether or not this is a wise investment of your time and money.

While the site is not really a scam, because it does in fact provide leads for writing jobs online, but it receives plenty of negative reviews from people who have tried it and had problems. To be fair, I’m sure a portion of the billing complaints are from people who simply did not read the trial terms before forking over their credit card number, but still it looks pretty shady and I would not recommend it to anyone.

If you want to make money online as a freelance writer, it is highly recommended that you take another route. Freelancer sites like oDesk, Elance, Demand Studios and Break Studios are totally legitimate sites for freelance writers that provide an opportunity to make money from home as a writer. Be suspicious of any site advertising big money from freelance writing jobs online. Making money at home from writing is far from easy and it doesn’t earn much money at first until you find your place. Working from home writing takes hard work and dedication.
