SurveySpot Review: Is It Worth the Time?
Probably not. Many sites, like SurveySpot, seem appealing at first glance, but a closer look will reveal what you can expect from the site. SurveySpot claims to be free and that does appears to be true. Their site states:
“There are no costs associated with joining the panel and you can leave at any time. However, you will need an email address to receive invitations to participate in surveys and you need to be able to access the internet to complete our online surveys.”
SurveySpot is a market research company created by Survey Sampling International. Their site advertises free access to paid survey online in exchange for cash rewards and the chance to win $12,000 in a prize draw. Like many free paid survey sites on the Internet, SurveySpot rewards survey takers with redeemable points that can be used to shop for popular products at big name stores on the Web.
Members can supposedly sign up for free and then start receiving survey invitations by email. The site’s panel is only available for United States residents at this time, but they do have another panel available for Canadians.
How much money can you expect to make taking the paid surveys from SurveySpot? Some survey takers who have tried SurveySpot.com report average online survey earnings of $1 or $2 per survey, but some members made $3. That’s if you actually get paid! A closer look at SurveySpot reviews revealed a number of disgruntled members who made little money, never got paid at all, or were unable to get any replies from member support when they had a payment issue or other problems with the site.
Some people also state that they were rarely able to even qualify at all for SurveySpot surveys, but to be fair, disqualification is a common problem with many paid online survey sites.
SurveySpot.com says they will pay instantly, via PayPal, once 1000 points ($10 worth) have been earned from their site. Unless you qualify for every free paid survey you take, it will probably take a lot of time to earn 1,000 points. Many of the free paid surveys earn points, instead of cash, and the cash value of the points is considerably low. Most of the surveys take at least 20 minutes to complete, so ask yourself if it’s worth the time or not.
The site might appeal to folks who like to enter into sweepstakes for prizes. They advertise prize draws of $12,000, $250 and as much as $25,000.
SurveySpot does not seem to be a site that I could totally trust or want to use to take surveys for money. I can’t say if the site is a scam or not. There are a number of people who claim to have had bad experiences and that’s enough for me to look elsewhere.
Overall, SurveySpot looks like a site where you will be investing too much time for very little rewards. Plus there are too many complaints and negative reviews about them. Instead of wasting your time and risking getting scammed, open a free account at the legit paid online survey site CashCrate. They also provide several other ways to make money outside of taking surveys. They are one of the best survey sites I have used and I never had any problems getting paid. They are totally free and you will get a check in the mail after you earn $20.
