Work At Home Tools
For your convenience, I have arranged a helpful list of useful tools and resources, so you can find what you need all in one place. This page includes important tools that help me make money online. I have included only the best tools that I use the most because they provide the most value and save time.
Keyword Research
- Market Samurai: The best keyword research tool available, period. I use it to research keywords and ideas for new blog posts and niche sites. It provides an unbelievable amount of useful keyword and competition data.
- Google Adwords Keyword Tool: A tool that compiles a list of keywords and keyword search volume data. It is a good tool to use for setting up an Adwords campaign.
Article Writing:
- The Best Spinner: The best article writing software that saves me an enormous amount of time. It lets you create multiple unique versions of one article so you can quickly submit them to top article directories for backlinks. This way, you are not spending hours manually rewriting each article separately.
- Word Hippo: A tool to help you find unique and interesting words when you’re short on writing ideas, or want to replace a boring word. Simply plug in a word and Word Hippo produces a list of related words, including the definition.
- Word Count Tool: A handy tool for quickly checking the word count in your article. If you are writing an article outside of WordPress, which already has a word count tool built in, this tool comes in handy. It also highlights misspelled words.
Web Hosting:
- BlueHost: The web host I use for all my sites. BlueHost is great for WordPress blogs because installation is super easy and the unlimited domain hosting allows me to host all of my niche sites in one place for only the price of one. Excellent customer service.
Blogging:
- WordPress: The most popular and widely used program for blogging. Many of my niche sites were designed using WordPress, but not all of them. WordPress provides tons of cool themes and plugins, so you can get the most out of your blog.
WordPress Plugins:
- All-In-One SEO Pack: A must-have for every WordPress blog. It automatically optimizes your titles for search engines, plus you can enter META tags and a description for every blog post to get maximum SEO benefits.
- Google XML Sitemaps: An important plug-in that creates an XML sitemap for all of the content in your blog. This allows the search engines to easily find your content.
- SexyBookmarks: This installs a cool sharing menu in your blog posts, which includes dozens of popular social networking sites. The menu appears at the bottom of every blog post, or at the top if you want. You can select which sites you want to include in the menu. It includes the Facebook like button and counters for Twitter and Facebook.
Website Builder Software:
- XsitePro: Easy-to-use software for building a professional website quickly. No HTML skills required. They give you a huge selection of professional templates that are totally customizable. You can place Adsense anywhere on your web pages simply by copying and pasting. Based on the quality of the templates and design features that come with XsitePro, this is the best alternative to the super expensive Dream Weaver software. You can view the website I designed using XsitePro here.
Receiving Payments Online:
- PayPal: The most common site used for receiving payments online. Not everyone sends payments through PayPal, but a large majority do, so you should register a PayPal account if you don’t already have one.
